Man Jailed for Random Attack on Women in Plaza District of Oklahoma City

Oklahoma City, Oklahoma – A man is now behind bars following a disturbing random attack on three women in the bustling Plaza District. The unsettling incident unfolded outside a bar in the early hours of last Friday, captured on camera for all to see. Authorities revealed that one of the victims had to be rushed to a nearby hospital by EMSA due to the severity of her injuries.

In a harrowing video released by the Oklahoma City police, the unsuspecting victims, identified as two women, were ambushed by 33-year-old Adam Hartico near northwest 16th and Gatewood Avenue. The motive behind the vicious assault remains unclear, with Oklahoma City Police Department Sergeant Dillon Quirk describing it as “completely unprovoked.”

The footage shows Hartico violently slamming the victims’ heads together before callously striking one of them while she lay defenseless on the ground. Despite the immediate actions of two bystanders who attempted to apprehend the assailant, Hartico managed to flee the scene.

Following the attack, the victims reported suffering from head trauma and memory loss. Court documents further revealed that one of the women kicked in the face sustained a broken nose along with severe bruising and swelling.

Local business owners in the vicinity expressed shock and dismay upon viewing the video of the assault, emphasizing the need for improved safety measures to protect the community. The Plaza District Association’s Executive Director Rachael Leonhart conveyed sympathy for the victims and their families, denouncing the senseless nature of the attack and calling for increased mental health resources.

Sergeant Quirk confirmed that Hartico was swiftly identified through investigative efforts and subsequently taken into custody. He now faces charges of two counts of aggravated assault and battery, in addition to one count of assault and battery.

Law enforcement disclosed that prior to the disturbing incident, Hartico had targeted another woman in a Plaza District parking lot, where he attempted to forcibly remove her from her vehicle.
