Houston, Texas – The Houston Police Department is actively searching for a suspect involved in a fatal shooting outside a business in the Gulfgate area. The incident occurred outside the Z Mart gas station on Gulf Freeway near Griggs Road around 12:38 p.m.
Authorities have stated that the shooting occurred as individuals inside the store were engaged in playing video slots. HPD Homicide Sgt. Michael Casso mentioned that initially, everything seemed normal until an altercation led to the suspect fatally shooting the victim on the store’s premises.
The suspect, described as a Hispanic male aged between 18 and 25, was wearing a dark hoodie at the time of the incident. Surveillance footage obtained by ABC13 captured the suspect fleeing the scene on foot. It is believed that the suspect resides in the vicinity as he was seen heading north and then turning onto Gould Street.
Investigations are ongoing to identify and apprehend the suspect responsible for the shooting. The authorities urge anyone with information to come forward to assist in solving the case and bringing the perpetrator to justice.
