Middle-School Attack Caught on Camera: Girl Brutally Assaulted by Classmate at Riverside County School

Riverside, California – A middle school student in Riverside County may face misdemeanor assault and battery charges after a violent and unprovoked attack on a sixth-grade girl at Arizona Middle School. The incident, which occurred on Mar. 15 just before 3 p.m., was captured on cellphone cameras, according to the Riverside Police Department.

The victim’s mother, known only as Jazmin, shared her distressing account with KTLA’s Shelby Nelson, revealing that no one intervened during the two-minute-long fight. The footage shows the classmate pulling the girl by her hair and punching her, while other students watched and recorded the incident on their phones.

Jazmin expressed her gratitude that her daughter survived the brutal attack, stating that it was difficult for her to watch the video. In a separate video obtained by KTLA, the assailant is seen preparing to attack Jazmin’s daughter while being encouraged by a friend.

The victim’s mother disclosed that the altercation stemmed from a confrontation over a boy, which quickly escalated into physical violence. Despite the severity of the attack and the visible injuries sustained by her daughter, Jazmin claimed that no school staff were present during the incident.

Following the incident, Jazmin took her daughter to the hospital and filed a police report. Despite seeking answers and assurances from the school administration, she felt that justice was not being served for her daughter. Eventually, she decided to remove her daughter from the school due to concerns about her safety.

Police confirmed that a report was filed, and the girl responsible for the attack has been disciplined pending further investigation. Jazmin’s persistence in seeking justice and transparency from the school has led to the removal of her daughter’s attacker from Arizona Middle School.
