Murder Charge Against Alfredo Briseno: Gripping Surveillance Video Reveals Brutal Attack on Ex-Girlfriend Jenny Rodriguez in Schaumburg

SCHAUMBURG, Ill. — A man has been charged with first-degree murder in the death of his ex-girlfriend following a violent incident captured on surveillance cameras. Alfredo Briseno, 37, remains in custody at Cook County Jail after being arraigned in connection with the killing of Jenny Rodriguez, 37, early on December 16, 2025.

Investigators say that Briseno and Rodriguez had been in a relationship since April 2025. The relationship ended just hours before the fatal encounter at a personal training gym in Schaumburg Town Square. Friends of Rodriguez reported she had told them about the breakup, leading to what prosecutors describe as a disturbing series of events that unfolded the following morning.

According to court documents, Rodriguez arrived at the F45 gym around 5:10 a.m. in her Range Rover, where Briseno is alleged to have shown up uninvited shortly thereafter. He parked nearby and entered Rodriguez’s vehicle minutes later. Surveillance footage shows the couple’s interaction quickly turned violent as the vehicle was seen moving in reverse before stopping near a stop sign.

Witnesses described hearing Rodriguez scream for help as the confrontation escalated. One bystander observed Briseno physically assaulting her, prompting him to call 911 and alert authorities. Despite attempts at life-saving measures by paramedics, Rodriguez was pronounced dead shortly after her arrival at the hospital.

Details of the attack reveal Rodriguez sustained multiple stab wounds, including life-threatening injuries to her neck and torso. The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office later classified her death as a homicide. Following the assault, Briseno was found at the scene with blood on his hands and clothing, and a knife was discovered in the rear seat of Rodriguez’s car.

Briseno has a previous history of domestic violence, having been the subject of an order of protection in 2020 following a violent altercation with his then-wife. That incident reportedly included physical assaults, raising concerns about the defendant’s behavior and history of violence.

Briseno’s detention hearing held on December 18 resulted in the denial of pre-trial release, with the court granting the state’s request for him to remain in custody. He is scheduled to return to court on January 28, 2026.

Authorities have labeled the incident domestic-related, emphasizing that both parties were familiar with one another and that there is no ongoing threat to the community. As the investigation continues, police are gathering further evidence and testimonies surrounding this tragic case.
