NIA Arrests Key Accused in Violent Attack on Indian High Commission in London

London, England – The National Investigation Agency (NIA) announced the arrest of a key suspect involved in the violent attack on the High Commission of India in London last year. Inderpal Singh Gaba, a resident of Hounslow, was detained for his involvement in unlawful activities during protests following the attack on the Indian embassy building.

The NIA’s investigation unveiled a wider conspiracy behind the incidents in March 2023, linking them to a targeted campaign against Indian missions and officials. The attacks were reportedly in retaliation for the Punjab Police’s actions against pro-Khalistani separatist Amritpal Singh on March 18, 2023.

The arrest of Gaba marks a significant development in the case, shedding light on the motives and connections behind the violent incidents in London. The agency’s efforts to uncover the intricate web of conspiracies and individuals involved in the attacks continue to progress.

Following the attacks, Khalistani supporters had pulled down the national flag at the Indian high commission as part of a protest against the crackdown on separatist elements in Punjab. The NIA’s assumption of the investigation from the Delhi police underscored the seriousness of the case and the need for coordinated efforts between India and the UK authorities.

Avtar Singh Khanda, identified as the mastermind behind the violence on March 19, was reportedly the self-styled chief of the designated terror group Khalistan Liberation Force (KLF). His subsequent demise in a Birmingham hospital weeks later added another layer of complexity to the case, revealing potential connections and links to other individuals involved in the attacks.

The ongoing probe by the NIA seeks to unravel the full extent of the conspiracy and bring all perpetrators to justice. As the investigation unfolds, more details are expected to emerge, shedding light on the events that transpired and the individuals responsible for the violent acts.
