Protest Planned After Pennbrook Middle School Student Attacked: Demands for Safety and Transparency

NORTH WALES, Pa. – Parents and students took to the streets in a peaceful protest on Tuesday morning following a disturbing incident at Pennbrook Middle School that left a student hospitalized. The community gathered in outrage after a 12-year-old student was brutally attacked by a 13-year-old using a metal Stanley mug in the cafeteria.

According to authorities, the violent assault was unprovoked and resulted in the victim being hospitalized. Fortunately, the injured student is now recovering at home. The incident sparked emotional responses from concerned families and community members during a meeting with the school board.

One student, visibly distressed, recounted the harrowing experience of witnessing the aftermath of the attack. “We had to sit there and watch them clean up her blood off the table and ground, and I will never forget that,” the student shared.

Superintendent Todd Bauer of the North Penn School District condemned the attack and assured that school officials and law enforcement are actively investigating the incident. Bauer emphasized, “Such behavior has no place in our schools. You expect better, we expect better, and certainly, I do as well.”

Following the incident, concerns were raised about prior warnings regarding the alleged attacker. A parent, Nicole Brown, who organized the protest, disclosed that she had met with the superintendent to address these concerns. The parent expressed frustration, alleging that despite previous warnings, the staff had failed to take appropriate action.

With demands for safety, transparency, accountability, and change within the school administration, families are mobilizing to ensure their voices are heard. The protest aims to address issues related to school violence and advocate for a safer environment for all students. This unified effort underscores the community’s commitment to holding authorities accountable and fostering a secure learning environment for the youth.
