Royal Wootton Bassett, England — A unique shop on High Street is becoming a local haven for spiritual seekers and meditation enthusiasts. Since its opening in June 2025, Something Kind of Woo has grown into a popular establishment, earning a reputation as a go-to destination for crystals and healing practices.
Owner Louise Muir-Sage, who once faced the debilitating effects of a violent assault, is on a mission to promote healing through Reiki, a Japanese method that emphasizes relaxation and the body’s natural ability to recover. Muir-Sage found solace in Reiki after her traumatic experience in her early twenties, and she believes this practice was pivotal in her recovery journey.
“My first encounter with Reiki occurred shortly after my assault when I was 23,” Muir-Sage explained. “I was seeking healing without having to relive my experience. It was a way for me to embark on self-healing, which eventually led me to help others.”
Since then, Muir-Sage has become a qualified Reiki Master teacher. She feels a profound connection to the practice, which she describes as life-changing. Her goal now is to empower others to explore their own healing paths through this ancient technique.
Upon becoming a Reiki teacher, Muir-Sage expressed her enthusiasm for bringing healing to her community. “I have witnessed clients experience profound emotions during sessions,” she shared. “Some laugh, some cry, and others even drift into deep relaxation, which is a wonderful compliment to my work as they fully embrace the experience.”
In addition to offering Reiki sessions, Muir-Sage will continue to operate her shop, which hosts various events centered around meditation and crystals. The shop serves as an educational venue where individuals can learn about the properties of crystals and their potential benefits, attracting a diverse clientele. “Crystals have gained mainstream popularity; people come for various reasons, whether to appreciate their beauty or to delve into their healing properties,” she noted.
Royal Wootton Bassett’s town mayor, Councillor Steve Bucknell, expressed his support for Muir-Sage’s efforts. “We are excited to have someone like Louise in our community, bringing a touch of spirituality and wellness to the town,” he remarked.
As Muir-Sage embarks on this new chapter in her business, she remains committed to fostering a nurturing space for those seeking healing, yet she also emphasizes the joy and community found in the shared appreciation of crystals. Her philosophy combines both practicality and spirituality, offering a holistic approach that resonates with many in the area. Through her work, Muir-Sage seeks to create a ripple effect of healing and connection in Royal Wootton Bassett.
