According to Broadhurst Police Station commander, Superintendent Obusitswe Lokae, the couple was attacked by three masked individuals who broke into their home and demanded money while threatening them with sharp objects and what appeared to be a gun.
During the robbery, the assailants caused extensive damage to the couple’s property, including destroying mattresses and the ceiling in search of valuables. The criminals made off with a significant amount of money, totaling P30,000 and $5,000, as well as eight phones, a laptop, ATM cards, and their Toyota Hiace truck, which is valued at P140,000. Investigations are currently underway to track down the suspects and recover the stolen items, particularly the stolen vehicle.
Superintendent Lokae noted that the victims suffered injuries during the violent attack as the criminals resorted to physical violence while demanding money. Despite ongoing efforts, authorities have not yet made any significant breakthroughs in the case.
