Search intensifies for two armed suspects following violent attack at Idaho hospital

Boise, Idaho – In the early hours of the morning, chaos ensued at Saint Alphonsus hospital as officers from various law enforcement agencies found themselves in a dangerous situation. The incident, which started as Idaho Department of Corrections (IDOC) officers were transporting an inmate, Skylar Meade, for medical treatment, quickly escalated into a violent encounter that left several individuals injured.

As officers were preparing to transport Meade back to IDOC, an unknown suspect launched an attack on them, resulting in two officers being shot. The situation prompted a response from Boise Police officers, who arrived at the hospital to reports of an active shooter. During the chaos, an IDOC employee was mistakenly identified as the shooter, highlighting the tense and confusing nature of the situation.

The hospital was swiftly put on lockdown as law enforcement officers scoured the area for the suspects, who managed to flee the scene in a grey sedan just before the police arrived. Meade, with a history of violent offenses, was serving time in IDOC for aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer, among other convictions. The violent nature of the attack, right in front of the Emergency Department, underscored the risks faced by law enforcement and healthcare workers alike.

In total, three IDOC officers were injured during the incident, with one in critical condition and the others sustaining serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The brazen and coordinated nature of the attack has raised concerns about the safety of law enforcement personnel and the public at large. Police are actively searching for the two suspects involved in the attack, emphasizing the need for vigilance and caution.

Boise police are leading the search efforts for the suspects, while the Ada County Sheriff’s Office is overseeing the investigation into the officer-involved shooting. The community has been urged to report any sightings or information about the suspects, as they are considered armed and dangerous. As the investigation unfolds, more details are expected to emerge, shedding light on the events that transpired at Saint Alphonsus hospital in the early hours of the morning.
