Shooter Hospitalized After Incident in New Hanover Regional

BOLIVIA, NORTH CAROLINA – Following a tragic incident in Brunswick County, the alleged shooter involved in the murder of a 17-year-old girl is currently hospitalized at New Hanover Regional Medical Center after being shot. According to Sheriff W.A. “Bill” Rogers, authorities have identified Jeffery Fowler as the primary suspect in the shooting that occurred at a family residence on Wagon Wheel Road. The identity of the deceased victim has not been disclosed as she is a minor.

Investigators are diligently working to unravel the details of the incident, which Sheriff Rogers characterized as a domestic situation. It remains unclear who shot Fowler during the altercation. Sheriff Rogers emphasized that the investigation is ongoing.

This recent shooting marks the second tragic death in Brunswick County within a week. Seven-year-old Antonio Maultsby Jr. was fatally shot in his home on Braswell Road the previous Saturday night. Authorities are still in search of a suspect in that case, offering a $31,000 reward for any information leading to an arrest.
