Shooting in Columbus Leaves Three Dead and Three Injured in Chaotic Scene

COLUMBUS, Ohio – A tragic incident unfolded over the weekend in Ohio’s capital, leaving three individuals dead and three others injured as a result of an early morning shooting in the Italian Village neighborhood. The authorities were alerted to the situation shortly before 3 a.m. on Saturday, with reports of what seemed to be either semi-automatic or automatic gunfire, along with cars hastily leaving the scene.

Upon arrival at the chaotic scene just two minutes later, officers discovered six individuals had been shot. Tragically, two men were pronounced dead at the scene, and another succumbed to his injuries at a nearby hospital. The victims were later identified as 27-year-old Malachi Pee, 26-year-old Garcia Dixon Jr., and 18-year-old Da’ondre Bullock.

Deputy Chief Gregory Bodker briefed the media, reporting that three additional individuals were rushed to hospitals for treatment, with one in critical condition while the other two were deemed stable, thankfully expected to recover from their injuries. Bodker highlighted that witnesses were aiding investigators in their inquiries, shedding light on the events leading up to the shooting. Although a bar was situated nearby, it remained uncertain if any of those involved had ties to the establishment.

As the investigation unfolded, no suspects had been identified, and the motive behind the tragedy remained shrouded in mystery. Law enforcement officials from the Franklin County sheriff’s office deployed a drone to document the extensive crime scene, aiding in the collection of vital evidence and video footage to piece together the sequence of events leading to the deadly altercation.
