Student Arrested in Terroristic Threat Investigation at Fort Worth Middle School

Fort Worth, Texas – A third student in a middle school in far north Fort Worth is facing charges for involvement in creating and editing an online document detailing a planned attack against students and staff, as reported by Northwest Independent School District officials. The student’s actions were brought to light after a tip from a parent on May 1 led school officials to the disturbing document, which included plans to target 25 students and seven staff members at Wilson Middle School.

While other students at Wilson Middle School were investigated, they were found not to have engaged in any terroristic threat according to district officials. The severity of the situation prompted the arrest of two students with pending felony charges, and further investigation revealed a third student’s involvement in creating the threatening document.

In response to the incident, all three students have been charged with a felony terroristic threat by the school district. The Northwest ISD Discipline Management Plan outlines potential consequences for such actions, indicating that students charged with such offenses could face placement in the District Alternative Education Program for a specified period.

Moving forward, Northwest ISD schools will implement a threat assessment review before allowing a student implicated in terroristic threats to return to campus. Additional security measures have been put in place at Wilson Middle School, including the presence of an armed security guard to monitor the premises and a Fort Worth Police Department school resource officer on campus.

To ensure the safety and well-being of students and staff, counselors will be available at the school, and absences due to safety concerns will be excused for affected students. Officials stress the importance of reporting any suspicious activity promptly to campus administrators and encourage the use of the district’s tip line for anonymous reporting.

Northwest ISD serves students not only in far north Fort Worth but also in 13 other surrounding communities, emphasizing the need for a secure and supportive learning environment for all individuals within the school district.
