Teen Arrested for Violent High School Assault in Huntsville

Huntsville, Ontario – A teenage student in Huntsville has been taken into custody by the local OPP officers following a violent assault at the community’s high school. The incident occurred yesterday shortly before noon, causing concern among students and faculty.

According to Constable Ted Warman, the male suspect allegedly made threats before physically attacking another student. The victim suffered injuries that required medical attention, although the full extent of the harm is still being determined.

The teen has since been arrested and is facing charges of assault causing bodily harm and uttering threats to cause bodily harm. Following the arrest, the accused was released into the custody of a parent and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on May 8.

In compliance with the Youth Criminal Justice Act and to protect the privacy of the victim, the name of the accused has not been disclosed. Warman emphasized the importance of partnerships between the Huntsville OPP and local schools to ensure the safety of students and staff, condemning acts of violence and bullying within educational institutions.
