Teenage Boys Arrested in Violent Assault Case Identified as Standoff Suspects

CHEHALIS, WA – Two teenage boys who were involved in a seven-hour standoff in Chehalis have been identified as suspects in a violent assault that took place in the same area earlier in March. Micah Elijah Nobach, 19, from Centralia, and Roberto Tomas Romero Bower, 17, from Chehalis, faced charges of first-degree assault with accomplice liability during their preliminary hearings at Lewis County Superior Court.

Both Nobach and Bower are being charged as adults, accused of being principal or accomplice in the assault. The court documents claim that their actions showed deliberate cruelty towards the victim during the attack. Bower had a warrant issued for his arrest on March 25, while Nobach was charged on April 2. The judge ruled to maintain bail at $1 million each for both individuals, citing significant threats to community safety.

The incident stems from a violent beating on March 1, involving Nobach, Bower, along with two others, Jamal George West and Aiden Riley Smith. The victim was attacked by the suspects, who appeared in surveillance footage kicking, stomping, and assaulting him with a brick. The victim suffered severe injuries and had to be treated for lacerations, an orbital hemorrhage, broken teeth, and strangulation.

Nobach, Bower, Smith, along with an unidentified juvenile, are facing charges related to the assault. Bower is also facing unrelated charges related to a dispute that led to the standoff with law enforcement on April 1. The standoff ended peacefully after Nobach and Bower surrendered following the intervention of SWAT teams.

Another individual, Larisa Boyd, was arrested for allegedly providing false information to the police during the standoff. Boyd faces charges of first-degree rendering criminal assistance. The incident emphasizes the importance of community safety and the need for law enforcement to respond promptly to violent crimes in the area. Vigilance and cooperation remain crucial in ensuring a safe environment for all residents in Chehalis and its surrounding areas.
