THC Deal Turns Deadly: Teen Rapper Shot in East El Paso Parking Lot

El Paso, Texas – A tragic incident at the Vista Village Apartments resulted in the fatal shooting of 21-year-old Bryan Raul Castillo. The young man, also known as GGRI$H, was shot in the parking lot during what was believed to be a drug deal for THC disposable vape devices, as revealed by court documents. Police announced the arrest of Aldo David Flores, 17, on a murder charge in connection with Castillo’s death on the night of May 14.

According to social media posts offering condolences, Castillo was an aspiring local rapper with a significant presence on YouTube through his music videos. The shooting, initially thought to be the result of an argument between two groups, was later linked to a drug theft, causing a tragic end to Castillo’s life in the apartment complex parking lot. What started as a simple transaction turned deadly, leaving Castillo’s relatives as witnesses to the heartbreaking event.

The events leading up to Castillo’s shooting unfolded as he met with two individuals in a black four-door vehicle at the Vista Village Apartments. The buyers, upon noticing Castillo’s relatives in his vehicle, decided against proceeding with the transaction. However, a tragic turn of events led to Castillo being shot by the driver of the black vehicle, who then threatened one of Castillo’s relatives with a handgun before fleeing the scene. Despite being rushed to Del Sol Medical Center, Castillo could not be saved.

Further investigation revealed that the shooting was tied to a THC “dispos” deal between Flores and Castillo, where Flores allegedly shot Castillo and made off with the vape devices. Detectives found evidence linking Flores to the crime, ultimately leading to his arrest on May 17. He now remains in custody at the El Paso County Jail under a $500,000 bond. The tragic incident sheds light on the dangers associated with illegal drug deals and the devastating consequences that can arise from such transactions.

Amidst the grief and shock of Castillo’s untimely death, the community mourns the loss of a young talent and grapples with the harsh reality of violence stemming from illicit activities. As the investigation continues and justice is sought for Castillo, his memory lives on through his music and the impact he had on those who knew him. The tragedy serves as a reminder of the importance of combating drug-related crimes and preventing further senseless violence in the community.
