GWADAR, Pakistan – A soldier was tragically killed and 16 others, including an officer, were injured in what the military’s media wing described as “unprovoked assaults” by violent protesters in Gwadar district. The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported that a violent mob disguised as ‘Baloch Raji Muchi’ attacked security forces personnel on duty in the region.
Sepoy Shabbir Baloch, 30, from district Sibi, lost his life during the incident. The ISPR statement highlighted the spread of fake and malicious propaganda on social media through manipulated images and videos to garner support for the violent march.
Despite facing provocations, security forces showed great restraint to prevent civilian casualties. The ISPR emphasized that the violent actions of the mob were unacceptable, and those responsible would be held accountable.
Furthermore, the statement urged the public not to be swayed by propaganda, advising them to stay calm and collaborate with law enforcement agencies to ensure public safety. Security forces in Pakistan, with the support of the nation, are steadfast in their determination to thwart any efforts to disrupt the peace and stability of Balochistan.
The incident serves as a stark reminder of the challenges faced by security forces in maintaining order and safeguarding communities in the region. It underscores the importance of staying vigilant against misinformation and violent acts that threaten the well-being of the population.
As investigations into the incident continue, it is crucial for authorities to ensure justice is served for the fallen soldier and the injured personnel. The incident also highlights the need for ongoing cooperation between the public and law enforcement to counteract any attempts to destabilize the region.
