Illegal Immigration Policy Under Kamala Harris Criticized by Survivor of Brutal Attack

San Francisco, California – A woman in California, who was a victim of a violent attack by an undocumented immigrant in 2008, is speaking out against Vice President Kamala Harris for a controversial program she launched as the San Francisco District Attorney.

Amanda Kiefer was assaulted by Alexander Izaguirre, an undocumented immigrant, when he stole her purse and then tried to run her over in a waiting SUV, causing serious injuries. Izaguirre, who had previous drug charges, was part of a program initiated by Harris that allowed non-violent offenders to avoid jail time by entering job training and later having their records expunged.

Now, 45 years old, Kiefer has decided to share her story after 15 years, describing the incident as a “wake up” call for her. The program, known as “Back on Track,” was meant to help individuals secure lawful employment. However, Harris admitted that there were flaws in the program, especially in allowing illegal immigrants to benefit from it.

The case has gained attention once again after the Republican National Committee released a campaign advertisement targeting Harris, criticizing her stance on illegal immigration before taking office as vice president. Kiefer expressed her disapproval of criminals being allowed to participate in job training instead of serving time in jail. Harris defended the program, stating that steps were taken to ensure that only those eligible for legal employment would benefit from it.

As the Trump campaign seeks to highlight Harris’ track record on border issues, criticism has emerged regarding her efforts to address the root causes of illegal migration, particularly in the Northern Triangle countries. Critics argue that Harris did not do enough to prevent the crisis. Despite the challenges, Harris was assigned a significant role in addressing the border situation at the beginning of the current administration.

Kiefer’s experience led her to reconsider her political views, moving away from her previous liberal stance to support candidates like former President Trump. The Harris campaign has not responded to requests for comment on the matter.
