Assault at Churchill LRT Platform: Police Seek Public Help Identifying Suspects

Edmonton, Alberta – A violent assault took place on Saturday, Feb. 24, 2024, at the Churchill LRT platform, leaving a 64-year-old man with serious injuries. The man was attacked by a group of suspects, who not only assaulted him but also robbed him before fleeing the scene. The incident has prompted a public appeal for information to identify the suspects involved in the assault.

Investigators are urging the public to come forward with any information that may help identify the individuals responsible for the attack. The Edmonton Police Service is seeking assistance in identifying three suspects involved in the assault, as captured in a photo released to the public. Descriptions of the suspects have been provided to aid in their identification and apprehension.

One suspect, Markus Lee Gladue, 21, has been identified and remains at large. Arrest warrants have been issued for Gladue on charges of aggravated assault, possession of an offensive weapon dangerous to the public, and robbery. The police are actively seeking to locate and apprehend Gladue.

In addition to Gladue, two other suspects have since been charged in connection to the assault. Brady Rodney Desroches-Smith, 28, faces charges of aggravated assault and robbery, and was also wanted for first-degree murder by the Grande Prairie RCMP at the time of his arrest. Travis Damian Houle, 35, has been charged with aggravated assault, robbery, and failure to comply with a probation order in relation to the incident.
