Daughter records 52-year-old Florida mother beating her sister with a guitar

MIAMI, FL – A Florida mother was taken into custody after being accused of using a metal guitar to assault her daughter following a prolonged wait outside her school. Authorities allege that 52-year-old Sayda Orellana Castellanos became enraged after waiting over ten minutes for her daughter, who was conversing with male classmates.

The incident unfolded in Miami’s Little Havana neighborhood, where Orellana Castellanos faces charges of aggravated battery and child abuse resulting in great bodily harm. Police documents detail that a domestic disturbance call led an officer to the home on Monday evening shortly after 5 p.m.

Orellana Castellanos reportedly expressed her annoyance at the school’s delay, which escalated after discovering the girl had been talking with boys. According to the arrest affidavit, tension simmered during the drive home, with the mother allegedly hurling derogatory insults at her daughter.

At their residence, the situation intensified when Orellana Castellanos purportedly confronted her daughter in her room. An ensuing altercation saw the mother allegedly assault her daughter physically, first by pulling her hair and reportedly striking her repeatedly in the face.

The conflict escalated further when Orellana Castellanos supposedly armed herself with a metal guitar from the wall, using it to beat her daughter. Following that, she allegedly continued the assault with a broomstick, which reportedly broke during the attack.

The incident was documented by the victim’s sister, who recorded the altercation on video. Police reviewed the footage and reported that it corroborated the victim’s account of events.

The daughter sustained multiple injuries, including facial lacerations and bruising, described in the affidavit as indicative of potential permanent disfigurement.

Emergency medical personnel provided on-site treatment for the girl’s injuries. Orellana Castellanos was subsequently arrested and processed at the Miami-Dade County jail, where she was released on a $3,500 bond. She is scheduled to appear in court on March 5 to address the charges.
