Los Angeles, California – The community of North Hollywood was shaken when a dog was stolen in a violent incident inside a local store, leaving its owner emotionally distraught. Drake, an 11-year-old pit bull/Rhodesian ridgeback mix, was safely returned to his owner, Liat, a 47-year-old massage therapist, after being taken during the unsettling ordeal that took place at a 7-Eleven on Burbank Boulevard.
The Los Angeles Police Department swiftly launched an investigation into the disturbing incident, which was captured on video and shared on social media. The footage depicted two individuals assaulting Liat in the store before forcefully taking Drake from her. Liat recounted the harrowing experience, revealing that she was followed by the suspects upon entering the store to withdraw cash, leading to a physical altercation that resulted in her losing control of Drake.
Despite sustaining injuries during the scuffle, Liat, who has a background in the Israeli defense forces, remained resilient in her determination to protect Drake. With the help of social media, Drake was eventually located at a sober living facility in Orange County by vigilant individuals who recognized him. The LAPD confirmed that one suspect, a woman, was apprehended, while another male suspect involved in the incident remains at large.
