Oklahoma City, Oklahoma – The Oklahoma County District Attorney’s Office announced that Douglas Jacobs has pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including second-degree murder, in connection with a fatal shooting at the Whiskey Barrel Saloon in April 2023.
Jacobs was involved in a violent altercation between rival motorcycle gangs at the bar, with prosecutors stating that he participated in an orchestrated attack on the Homietos Motorcycle Gang. The confrontation resulted in the deaths of three individuals, including Jacobs shooting Eric Oberholtzer and fatally shooting him before fleeing the scene.
Initially facing a first-degree murder charge, Jacobs entered a blind guilty plea on Jan. 24, 2025, and received a sentence of 30 years for second-degree murder, with additional years for other charges such as conspiracy and gang-related offenses. He will serve 15 years in the Oklahoma Department of Corrections, with the remaining 20 years suspended post-release.
In a separate case, Gabriel Sanchez was convicted by an Oklahoma County jury of assault and battery with a deadly weapon and first-degree robbery stemming from a stabbing incident in March 2022. Sanchez attacked his estranged wife, causing severe injuries before stealing her purse and fleeing the scene, leading to his arrest after a pursuit by law enforcement.
Sanchez received a recommended sentence of 10 years for assault and battery with a deadly weapon and 20 years for first-degree robbery. He is currently in custody and awaits formal sentencing scheduled for Feb. 20, 2025, expressed gratitude for the collective efforts of jurors, witnesses, law enforcement, and prosecutors in both cases.
