KILLER SOUGHT: Mother Seeks Justice for Slain Son in Northern Liberties Shooting

Philadelphia, PA – A mother is pleading for the public’s assistance in identifying the assailant who fatally shot her son in Northern Liberties one year ago.

Ana Vasquez, the grieving mother, is seeking justice for her son, Jael Bravo, a young man described as a passionate artist and a lover of life and music.

The tragic incident occurred on March 13, 2023, when Bravo, along with his cousin and a friend, was ambushed while parked at the intersection of North Marshall and Girard streets. A dark-colored SUV pulled up, and multiple shots were fired into Bravo’s vehicle, leading to his untimely death.

Chief Inspector Scott Small of the Philadelphia police expressed concerns over the close-range firing of a semiautomatic weapon during the attack. The shooting left Bravo dead and his two companions injured but in stable condition.

Despite the City of Philadelphia offering a substantial reward of up to $20,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction, Vasquez noted a reluctance among witnesses to cooperate with the authorities, citing fear as a significant barrier.

Vasquez implored anyone with knowledge of the incident to come forward and assist in bringing closure to the senseless tragedy that has left her family devastated.

Authorities emphasize anonymity for anyone providing tips to the Citizens Crime Commission at 215-546-TIPS. As the investigation continues, Vasquez remains hopeful that the perpetrator will be brought to justice for the loss of her beloved son.
