Mobile Police Still Searching for Killer in Sports Bar Shooting of Anthony Pope

MOBILE, Ala. – It has been nearly two weeks since the tragic shooting outside a sports bar in Mobile claimed the life of Anthony Pope. The incident took place outside the All Sports Bar & Grill on Pleasant Valley Road, and as of now, the police are still working to find the perpetrator.

During a candlelight vigil held for Pope, his family expressed their hope that someone with information about the shooting would come forward. They are still grappling with the loss and seeking closure.

According to an employee at the bar, the altercation that led to the shooting began inside the establishment before escalating into the parking lot. Despite efforts by the Mobile police, the shooter remains unidentified and there are no significant updates on the investigation at this time.

The victim’s godmother, Darlene Banks, spoke out about the senseless violence that claimed her loved one’s life. She emphasized the need for justice and expressed frustration at the prevalence of violence for trivial or unknown reasons.

James Boutwell, a friend of the victim, also shared his grief and the irreplaceable loss he feels. He described Pope as a reliable and loyal best friend, emphasizing the impact of his absence.

The owner of the bar, Shane Cameron, released a statement expressing profound sadness over the tragic incident and extending condolences to the family and friends of Anthony. He called for an end to gun violence and urged the community to stand against it.

Pope, a father of three, will be dearly missed by his family, who are determined to carry on in his memory. They are urging anyone with information about the shooting to come forward and assist the Mobile Police in bringing closure to this devastating loss.
