Assaulted Boston School Principal Pleads Guilty in Juvenile Court: 19-Year-Old’s Violent Attack Reflected in Sentencing

Boston, Massachusetts – A 19-year-old individual recently pleaded guilty in juvenile court to charges stemming from a violent assault on a school principal in Dorchester three years ago. The incident, which took place at the Dr. William W. Henderson Inclusion School, left the principal with serious injuries including a concussion, possible rib fracture, and swelling to her face and head.

At the time of the assault in 2021, it was reported that the assailant, then a 16-year-old student, physically attacked the principal during school dismissal at the Upper Campus of the educational institution. The police report indicated that the teenager’s mother had threatened the principal the night before the assault, adding a troubling context to the incident.

Following the guilty plea, the judge ordered the individual to be placed in the custody of the Department of Youth Services for a period of 30 to 35 days. During this time, the individual will receive treatment and undergo assessments to address her needs. The defense attorney emphasized the importance of reflection and taking responsibility for the actions committed.

Despite the defense’s request for probation, the judge deemed the offenses as violent, particularly due to the serious bodily injuries sustained by the victim. The judge’s decision mandated the individual to remain in DYS custody until their 21st birthday.
