Stockport, England – A shocking Snapchat video has surfaced, capturing the brutal assault on a shop worker by a group of hooded assailants. The incident took place at a petrol station on Wellington Road South in Stockport in the early hours of July 29, 2021. The video, shared on social media, shows the employee being punched, kicked, and stamped on during a violent robbery.
The distressing footage led authorities to identify and apprehend four individuals involved in the attack – Kausar Amin, Bradley Maphosa, Tyler Garforth, and Riley Richardson. The video depicts the group threatening the staff member from outside, before barging into the station and violently assaulting him with punches, kicks, and throwing objects at him. The victim was left traumatized and required medical attention after the assailants fled with approximately £600 worth of goods.
Following an investigation fueled by the Snapchat video evidence, law enforcement arrested and charged Amin, Maphosa, Garforth, and Richardson. Amin, 22, of Oldham, was sentenced to two years in prison for robbery at Minshull Street Crown Court. His three accomplices were convicted of robbery as well, with Maphosa, 20, of Salford, receiving a two-year sentence in a youth detention center, and Garforth, 19, of Chadderton, Oldham, handed a 13-month suspended sentence. Richardson, 19, of Oldham, also received a 13-month suspended sentence for robbery.
In response to the case, detective constable Lucy Williams expressed gratitude for the public support and emphasized the importance of holding the perpetrators accountable for their actions. Williams commended the victim’s bravery and the collaborative effort that led to the conviction of those responsible for the unprovoked attack. Garforth and Richardson were each given specific requirements as part of their sentencing, including unpaid work hours, rehabilitation activities, and curfew restrictions.
