Random Gwinnett County attacks leave victims injured, suspect arrested for brutal assaults

GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. – A shocking incident in Duluth has left residents on edge after a man was arrested for randomly attacking and injuring two individuals in the same area on Monday. Warren Crayton, 37, allegedly assaulted a 16-year-old leaving a Kroger, punching him in the face and leaving him bloodied in front of the store on Peachtree Industrial Boulevard and Pleasant Hill Road. The violence didn’t stop there, with Crayton reportedly moving on to brutally assault a man working at a car wash at a nearby Shell gas station, leaving the victim with a broken back, according to authorities.

The family of the victim with the broken back has revealed that he remains hospitalized and may face a lengthy recovery process before he can walk again. Surveillance footage shared with authorities captured Crayton kicking the victim repeatedly before fleeing the scene. Despite the evidence, police are still uncertain about the motive behind the attacks, with victims claiming they were caught off guard by the senseless violence.

Witnesses and victims have suggested that Crayton may have been experiencing a mental episode or under the influence of drugs during the assaults. The 16-year-old victim described the chaotic incident as bewildering, expressing shock at the sudden and unprovoked attack. Police have since charged Crayton with Aggravated Assault and are anticipating additional charges as the investigation unfolds.

The community remains shaken by these disturbing events, emphasizing the importance of safety and vigilance in public spaces. As authorities work to piece together the details of the case, residents are urged to report any suspicious behavior and remain cautious while out and about. This harrowing ordeal serves as a stark reminder of the unpredictability of such incidents and the need for heightened awareness in the face of potential dangers.
