Threatening Online Document Leads to Third Student Arrest at Wilson Middle School

Fort Worth, Texas – A third student at a middle school in far north Fort Worth has been charged in connection with creating and editing an online document that detailed a planned attack against students and staff, officials from the Northwest Independent School District announced.

The investigation, which initially led to the arrest of two students with pending felony charges, revealed a total of three students involved in the creation of the threatening document. The document contained plans to attack Wilson Middle School and listed 25 students and seven staff members as targets.

Following a tip from a parent on May 1, school officials were made aware of the “troubling and violent document,” prompting immediate action to address the serious nature of the situation. In response, the District informed Wilson Middle School families and employees about the document through a letter last week.

In light of these developments, all three students have now been charged with a felony terroristic threat, according to the school district. As a result, the Northwest ISD Discipline Management Plan outlines potential consequences for such actions, including placement in the District Alternative Education Program for a specified duration.

Moving forward, the Northwest ISD schools have implemented additional security measures to ensure the safety of students, staff, and parents. An armed security guard will actively monitor the halls and exterior of Wilson Middle School for the remainder of the school year, alongside the presence of a Fort Worth Police Department school resource officer on campus.

Furthermore, counselors will be available at Wilson to provide support for students during this challenging time. Students who expressed safety concerns by staying home on specific days will have those absences excused by officials.

To maintain a safe and secure environment, officials urge the community to report any suspicious activity promptly to campus administrators or school staff. Additionally, concerns can be reported anonymously through the district’s tip line available online.

As Northwest ISD strives to ensure the safety and well-being of students in its care, the presence of armed security measures and support services aim to reassure the community that learning can continue in a secure environment at Wilson Middle School. Serving students in far north Fort Worth and surrounding communities, Northwest ISD remains committed to providing a safe and conducive learning environment for all.
