Threatening Document Leads to Third Student Arrest at Wilson Middle School

Fort Worth, Texas – A third student from a middle school in far north Fort Worth has now been charged in relation to the creation and editing of an online document detailing a planned attack against students and staff as reported by officials from the Northwest Independent School District.

The disturbing document, which contained plans to attack Wilson Middle School and listed specific targets among its 25 students and seven staff members, was discovered on May 1 after a parent tip-off during school hours. Following an investigation, two students were initially arrested and faced pending felony charges. However, further findings revealed a third student’s involvement in the creation of the threatening document.

All three students involved in the incident have since been charged with a felony terroristic threat, in accordance with the school district’s disciplinary protocols. As per the Northwest ISD Discipline Management Plan, students faced with such serious charges could potentially face placement in the District Alternative Education Program for a period ranging from 45 to 60 days.

Moving forward, Northwest ISD schools will adopt a threat assessment review process before allowing a student implicated in terroristic threats to return to campus. Additionally, to bolster security measures, an armed guard will be actively monitoring the hallways and exterior of Wilson Middle School for the rest of the school year. Collaborating with the Fort Worth Police Department, a school resource officer will also be stationed on campus to ensure safety.

The presence of the additional armed security guard is intended to provide reassurance to students, staff, and parents, emphasizing a safe environment for learning at Wilson Middle School. In line with this, counselors will be available at the school to offer support, especially for students who may have stayed home due to safety concerns. Rest assured, these absences will be excused.

To further emphasize the importance of vigilance and safety, officials urge the immediate reporting of any suspicious activity to campus administrators and school staff. Alternatively, concerns can be submitted anonymously through the district’s online tip line. Northwest ISD caters to students not just in far north Fort Worth but also in 13 other surrounding communities.
