Washington D.C. – President Donald Trump celebrated the cancellation of Joy Reid’s show on MSNBC, denouncing her as one of the “least talented people” in a scathing social media post following the news. The show, “The ReidOut,” was reportedly axed as part of a network restructuring overseen by the new network head, Rebecca Kutler.
Reid seemingly confirmed the cancellation on Bluesky, expressing gratitude for the support received and announcing that she would be hosting her show one last time. Trump, known for his often contentious relationship with the media, has frequently criticized news outlets for their coverage of him, accusing them of spreading “fake news” and labeling them as “the enemy of the people.”
The former president took to Truth Social to applaud the decision to cancel Reid’s show, referring to her as a “mentally obnoxious racist” who he believed should have been removed from the airwaves much earlier. Reid, an outspoken critic of Trump, has not shied away from criticizing him on various platforms, including social media and television. She even went as far as calling him an “insurrectionist” in response to his alleged involvement in the January 6 Capitol attack.
In addition to targeting Reid, Trump also directed his ire towards other television personalities, including Al Sharpton and Alex Wagner. He criticized Sharpton for having reportedly low TV ratings and took aim at Wagner for her role on Rachel Maddow’s show. Trump accused MSNBC of being a biased news organization, labeling it as an “illegal arm of the Democrat Party” and condemning its coverage as “corrupt.” He concluded by asserting that the spread of fake news is an “unpardonable sin” that has caused significant harm to the country.
