Walmart Employee Involved in Fatal Shooting in Fayetteville, Ga.

FAYETTE COUNTY, Ga. – Tragedy struck inside a Walmart store in Fayetteville, Georgia, resulting in the death of a 19-year-old man and injuring a 9-year-old girl on Friday night.

The fatal incident took place at the Walmart on Pavillion Parkway around 10 p.m., where Antavius Holton, 19, and the young girl sustained gunshot wounds. Identified by authorities as Adrian Jelks, 19, the shooter was also revealed to be an employee of the Walmart.

Both victims were rushed to the hospital, with Holton succumbing to his injuries. Fortunately, the young girl is reported to be in stable condition, according to police officials.

The City of Fayetteville Public Safety asserted that this shooting was not a random act and was not classified as an active-shooter situation. It was disclosed that Jelks fled the scene in a car, which was eventually found abandoned.

Efforts to locate Jelks are currently underway, with investigators actively searching for him on Saturday. Meanwhile, Sandra Romero-Nunez, 19, was taken into custody on pending warrants related to the incident, though her exact involvement remains unclear.
