Assault Suspect At Large in Southern California After Terrifying Incident in Pasadena

Pasadena, California – Police are on the lookout for a suspect involved in a violent sexual assault against a woman outside a restaurant in Pasadena. The incident occurred on Sierra Madre Villa Avenue on Saturday night. The Pasadena Police Department released a surveillance image of the suspect, who forced the woman to drive to another location in Pasadena, where he sexually assaulted her. Despite the ordeal, the woman managed to fight back, call 911, and escape when the suspect fled the scene.

The suspect is described as a Black male, approximately 30 to 40 years old, around 6 feet tall with a heavy-set build. He was last seen wearing a black face mask, a gray hooded rain jacket, light blue jeans, and black shoes. He was armed with a folding knife and has a distinctive raspy voice. Authorities believe he may be transient.

In response to the incident, Pasadena residents are expressing concern about the safety of their community. Lynne Levin-Guzman, a nurse and Pasadena resident, emphasized the importance of staying vigilant even in well-regarded areas like Pasadena.

Lt. Tim Bundy of the Pasadena Police Department commended the woman for her strength and quick thinking during the assault, noting that she did the right thing by resisting and seeking help. The incident follows two recent brutal sexual assaults near the canals in Venice.

A 29-year-old man was arrested in San Diego in connection with those assaults and faces multiple charges, including forcible rape and attempted murder.
