Attack on Bikers Near Kherki Daula Toll Plaza Leads to Violent Confrontation and Damage

Gurgaon, India – A group of bikers faced a violent assault near the Kherki Daula toll plaza in Gurgaon early Monday morning. The incident occurred around 7:30 am when 11 bikers, traveling from Ambience Mall to Manesar, were ambushed by four men allegedly provoked by one of the bikers overtaking a black Scorpio SUV.

According to a police complaint filed by 27-year-old software developer Hardik Sharma from Hisar, the bikers were harassed by the occupants of the SUV, who attempted to unbalance them while driving recklessly. After a short chase, the bikers decided to stop near the Dwarka Expressway to avoid further confrontation.

Sharma described the situation escalating quickly, with the men in the SUV hurling abuses at the bikers and attempting to physically assault them by trying to remove their helmets. The bikers suspected that the incident was triggered by one of them overtaking the car earlier.

One of the bikers had a GoPro camera mounted on his bike, capturing the assault on video. The footage showed two men physically attacking the bikers and even taking pictures of their bike number plates. Despite attempting to de-escalate the situation, the situation turned violent with Sharma sustaining injuries to his thigh, hands, and wrist.

The attackers also damaged Sharma’s Kawasaki Z900 motorcycle, valued between ₹8-9 lakh, using a baseball bat. They also brandished knives and issued death threats before fleeing the scene. The group sought help from the police at the toll plaza, but Sharma alleged that there was a significant delay in filing the case due to jurisdiction issues.

The Sector 37 police station eventually registered an FIR under several sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including criminal intimidation, use of deadly weapons, common intention, rash driving, wrongful restraint, and endangering life. The bikers provided the police with the GoPro video footage and used a FaceCheck ID app to trace the accused through their social media profiles.

In response to the allegations of delay, the police stated that an investigation was underway, with crucial details and leads gathered. The suspects involved in the assault and vandalism were identified and would be apprehended shortly, according to a police statement.
