Bronx Shooting Leaves Venezuelan Nationals in Tragic Tale of Violence

NEW YORK, NY – Venezuelan nationals Adrian Mendoza, 24, and Jhombeyker Bisbal, 31, were involved in a deadly Bronx shooting outside a McDonald’s in Mott Haven, as reported by the police on Tuesday.

According to NYPD Chief of Detectives Joseph Kenny, the two men were sitting in a Nissan Rogue when a gray Honda Civic pulled up to them around 4 a.m. The passenger of the Civic initially walked past the victims’ car but then returned to the driver’s side, where he shot Mendoza in the head and body before firing multiple shots through the windshield that struck Bisbal.

The perpetrator fled the scene on foot, leaving Mendoza fatally wounded and Bisbal critically injured in the car outside the fast-food restaurant on E. 149th St. near Morris Ave. The victims were later transported to Lincoln Hospital, where Mendoza succumbed to his injuries while Bisbal remained in critical condition.

Notably, both men had encounters with Customs and Border Control in the past, with Mendoza being arrested in Texas in August and Bisbal in May. However, neither had prior arrests in New York.

Police investigations are focused on locating the Honda Civic used by the perpetrator, which had Virginia license plates attached to it. As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the shooting.

The incident has left the Bronx community shocked and concerned, with residents calling for increased safety measures in the area to prevent similar tragedies in the future. Officials are urging anyone with information to come forward and assist in the ongoing investigation to ensure justice is served.

As authorities continue their search for the suspect and work to unravel the circumstances surrounding the shooting, the victims’ families and loved ones are left grappling with the aftermath of the senseless violence that took place on the streets of Mott Haven.
