Brutal Unprovoked Attack on Women in Oklahoma City Plaza District Leads to Arrest of Metro Man

Oklahoma City, Oklahoma – A man in Oklahoma City was taken into custody following a disturbing random attack on three women in the Plaza District. The violent assault, captured on video outside a bar in the early hours of last Friday, left one victim requiring transport to a local hospital by EMSA.

The Oklahoma City Police Department released a video of the attack, which showed Adam Hartico, 33, unexpectedly attacking two women as they walked near northwest 16th Street and Gatewood Avenue. “It’s unclear why exactly he chose to do this,” stated Sgt. Dillon Quirk of the Oklahoma City Police Department, describing the attack as unprovoked.

After viciously slamming the victims’ heads together, Hartico was seen inflicting another blow on one of the victims on the ground before fleeing the scene. Witnesses attempted to chase the suspect, but he managed to escape.

Court documents revealed that the victims suffered head trauma and memory loss, with one woman sustaining a broken nose along with severe bruising and swelling on her face. Business owners in the vicinity of the incident expressed horror upon viewing the assault video.

Rachael Leonhart, Executive Director of the Plaza District Association, extended sympathies to the victims and their families, condemning the senseless and random attack. In a statement, Leonhart urged for increased governmental investment in mental health resources to address such incidents.

“I am grateful that the police were able to swiftly apprehend the suspect after the attack,” Quirk remarked, confirming that Hartico was identified shortly after the incident. Hartico now faces charges of two counts of aggravated assault and battery, and one count of assault and battery. Prior to the assault, Hartico had also tried to pull another woman out of her vehicle in a Plaza District parking lot.
