Covenant School Students to Return to Main Campus After Tragic Shooting

NASHVILLE, Tennessee – After enduring the tragic shooting at The Covenant School over a year ago, students are preparing to return to their main campus where six individuals lost their lives, including three students, on March 27, 2023.

Moving back in phases over the next week, Covenant students and faculty will transition from their temporary location at Brentwood Hills Church of Christ back to the Burton Hills Boulevard campus. Originally scheduled to return in January, the school administrators decided to postpone the move until mid-April to ensure a smooth and supportive transition.

Throughout this challenging time, The Covenant School has remained dedicated to supporting its students, families, teachers, and staff. The decision to delay the move back to the main campus was made after careful consideration of various factors surrounding the well-being and comfort of the school community.

While the temporary site at Brentwood Hills Church of Christ provided a respite from the tragedy, it was not without its own challenges. In February, a bomb threat was received via email, prompting an investigation involving the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The timeline for when all students will be relocated to the main campus remains uncertain.

As the community prepares for the emotional return to the Burton Hills campus, the focus remains on providing a safe and supportive environment for everyone involved. Despite the hardships faced, the resilience and unity displayed by The Covenant School community are a testament to their strength and determination to move forward together.
