Iranian Plot Against Former President Trump Detected by U.S. Intelligence

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania – U.S. intelligence officials have uncovered a recent Iranian plot against former President Donald Trump, prompting increased security measures ahead of a political event in Pennsylvania.

The National Security Council has been monitoring threats from Iran towards the former president for years, although no direct connection has been established between a recent shooting incident and a foreign entity.

Following the intelligence reports, the Secret Service has acknowledged receiving ongoing information regarding potential threats, without delving into specifics.

Anthony Guglielmi, Chief of Communication for the U.S. Secret Service, emphasized the continuous reassessment of threat information and the allocation of resources accordingly.

In light of the heightened Iran threat, the NSC reached out to the Secret Service at a senior level to ensure continuous surveillance. The Secret Service, in turn, informed Trump’s security team and updated the Trump campaign on the evolving situation.

In response, the Secret Service ramped up security measures and resources to safeguard Trump in the lead-up to the event in Pennsylvania.

NSC spokesperson Adrienne Watson attributed the threats to Iran seeking vengeance for the assassination of Qassem Soleimani, a key Iranian military figure killed on orders from Trump in early 2020.

The NSC considers this a top national security priority, focusing on the ongoing investigation which has yet to reveal any ties between the shooter and external collaborators, whether foreign or domestic.

Despite these developments, a spokesperson for the Trump campaign declined to comment on the security arrangements for the former president.
