Macon Woman Demands Justice After Violent Attack Leads to Emergency Hip Replacement

MACON, Ga. – A Macon woman is demanding justice after a brutal attack resulted in her needing hip replacement surgery. Sara Philips, a native of Macon, says she was assaulted by a group of teenagers while on her way home from a corner store nearly three weeks ago. The unprovoked attack left her hospitalized and in need of emergency surgery, shaking her with fear and uncertainty.

According to Philips, the teenagers approached her without warning and began to assault her, causing her to fall and break her hip. Despite the excruciating pain, she managed to crawl to a nearby apartment for help. However, when emergency services arrived, she felt that her situation was not taken seriously.

Following her x-rays at the hospital, it was revealed that she needed immediate surgery, leading to a hip replacement. In the aftermath, Philips has been attempting to obtain an incident report from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office (BSO), but she claims that no report has been written.

Amid her recovery, Philips is calling for the teenagers responsible for the attack to be held accountable. She voices concern over the lack of parental supervision and emphasizes the need for appropriate consequences. Meanwhile, BSO has stated that they are actively investigating the case and have confirmed that it is not mandatory for deputies to ride in an ambulance with the patient to produce an incident report.
