Shooting on I-20 in Caddo Parish Leaves One Dead in Road Rage Incident

Caddo Parish, Louisiana – A fatal road rage incident unfolded on Interstate 20 in Louisiana, leading to emergency crews rushing to the scene Tuesday morning. The Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office reported the incident near the U.S. Highway 80 interchange around 10 a.m. Responding to the call, at least 15 units from the sheriff’s office arrived at the location.

Tragically, authorities confirmed that a man lost his life in the shooting. Captain Bobby Herring, in charge of the criminal investigations division, indicated that the altercation is believed to have stemmed from a road rage episode. The conflict escalated between the driver of a tractor-trailer and another individual in a dark-colored Acura SUV, culminating in a fatal outcome on the Greenwood interstate ramp.

Witnesses described the confrontation where the truck driver attempted to flee, only to be pursued and fatally shot by the SUV driver. The victim, a non-local truck driver, remains unidentified pending notification of next of kin. The sheriff’s office disclosed that the SUV driver fled the scene, heading west on I-20 into Texas.

Intensive efforts are ongoing as multiple law enforcement agencies collaborate to locate the suspect. Investigators are also reaching out to other truck drivers for potential dash camera footage of the incident.
