Frontier County, Nebraska – A teenager from Eustis is facing charges as an adult after being accused of severely injuring a man in an assault. Preston Anderson, 17, has been charged in Frontier County Court with first-degree assault.
According to reports, a Frontier County Sheriff’s Deputy responded to a disturbance in Eustis on June 30. Upon arrival, the deputy found a woman accusing Anderson of assaulting her boyfriend. The boyfriend was discovered with injuries to his mouth, ears, head, and legs, allegedly inflicted by Anderson who threw him to the ground, punched him repeatedly, and slammed his head into the pavement.
The injured man was promptly taken to Cozad Community Hospital for treatment of injuries to his forehead, scalp, ear, and lips. He had two broken teeth and was unable to fully open his mouth. Stitches were required on his scalp, ear, and lips, with potential surgery on the horizon for his mouth.
In a recent court appearance, Anderson’s bail was set at $75,000, with 10% posted for his release from jail. Court documents reveal that Anderson’s attorney has filed a motion to transfer the case to juvenile court, with his next court date scheduled for July 19.
