FORT WORTH, Texas – Authorities in the Northwest Independent School District have arrested two middle school students for their role in creating and editing an online document outlining a potential attack on students and staff at Wilson Middle School. School officials were alerted to the alarming document by a concerned parent, which listed 25 students and seven teachers as targets.
The document, which was described as containing “troubling and violent” plans, involved the collaboration of several students from Wilson. District officials emphasized that all individuals involved in the creation and modification of the document would face legal consequences.
As the investigation unfolds, school leaders are taking decisive action by notifying the families of those listed as targets. The district is cooperating with the Fort Worth Police Department to thoroughly investigate the matter. The language used in the document mirrors what has been seen in previous cases of “terroristic threats” against schools nationwide.
Pending felony charges have been brought against the two students who were taken into custody. Concurrently, authorities are looking into whether other students within the district had access to the online document in question. The district also outlined its plans to address students who were involved but not arrested, citing disciplinary measures aligned with the district’s guidelines.
