TULLAHOMA, Tenn. — A tragic incident involving a pair of pit bulls has left a grandfather and his three-month-old granddaughter dead after a vicious attack, prompting an investigation by local authorities. The Tullahoma Police Department responded to a call on December 3 at approximately 3 p.m. regarding the disturbing scene.
Upon arrival, officers encountered a horrifying sight: the two dogs were actively attacking the infant. To prevent further harm, police euthanized the dogs on the spot, but tragically, both victims were found to be already deceased. The exact circumstances surrounding their deaths remain under investigation, particularly whether the victims were alive before the attack commenced.
While the two pit bulls were put down, additional dogs that were also present in the home were taken into custody by Tullahoma Animal Control. Authorities are now determining the appropriate measures for these non-aggressive animals. The release indicated that all safety protocols would be followed in managing their care.
