PHILADELPHIA, PA – The life of 2-year-old Key’Monnie Bean was cut tragically short after police say she was killed in her own home in South Philadelphia. Prosecutors allege the toddler suffered fatal abuse at the hands of her mother’s boyfriend, a shocking case that has left a neighborhood grieving and searching for answers.
Authorities responded to a house on the 2100 block of South Beechwood Street on Dec. 8, where they discovered Key’Monnie lifeless in the basement. Emergency crews rushed her to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, but doctors were unable to save her. Medical personnel noted that the little girl had suffered severe injuries across her body, injuries investigators say point to brutal and prolonged abuse.
