Salt Lake City, Utah – A 23-year-old man has been arrested in connection to the 2023 shooting that claimed the life of 22-year-old Halapaini Moala, according to a recent press release. Molitoni Vainuku was taken into custody and booked on one count of murder by the Salt Lake City Police Department.

The arrest of Vainuku was the result of a collaborative effort between the Gang Unit, Violent Criminal Apprehension Team, and SWAT, following an extensive investigation that began on June 4, 2023. Detectives received crucial information about Vainuku in West Valley City on March 22, leading to his swift apprehension.
