AMSTERDAM, N.Y. – Michael Darling, a resident of Gloversville, has been sentenced to 25 years for the first-degree manslaughter of his estranged wife, Kristine Darling. This comes after an arduous legal process that began with Darling reporting his wife’s death as a suicide on February 7, 2019, before eventually being indicted on May 26, 2023. Darling also prompted a manhunt after reportedly fleeing his home, but he was apprehended in Mayfield on May 27.
