Rochester, New York – A Rochester man has been found guilty of a violent assault against his teenage niece, leaving her in a coma due to the severity of the beating. Jacob Seffens, 34, was convicted of the assault after it was revealed that he had been involved in a sexual relationship with the teenager. The incident occurred on June 14 when the victim attempted to end the relationship, leading to Seffens attacking her with a baseball bat and causing life-threatening swelling to her brain.
Prosecutors emphasized the gravity of the assault, noting that the victim’s recovery was made possible through the efforts of the medical staff at Strong Memorial Hospital.
